These rules apply to the safety, health, and well being of employees working with biological-agents classified into risk groups 1 to 4 that are harmful to one’s health. 

TRBA 100 applies to facilities and practices in the fields of research, development, teaching or investigative purposes, e.g., in human medicine, veterinary medicine, biology, biotechnology, production of biologicals, molecular biology, environmental analysis, quality assurance, laboratory medicine, medical microbiology or hygiene, and environmental medicine. Also, laboratories in the fields of transfusion medicine and pathology, and, where applicable, laboratories in doctors’ practices in the areas of, e.g., dermatology, urology, and internal medicine.
